With so many different choices available on the internet for building websites, finding the perfect platform can be difficult. That being said, it may be worth your while to try a very popular CMS called WordPress. Many of you have probably already heard of this platform, but in case you haven’t please keep reading to learn why you should use WordPress to build your next website.
WordPress is Great for Beginners
This statement may seem very misleading if you’re used to a platform such as WiX or SquareSpace, but I can assure you that WordPress is very user friendly and easy to use. Also, fun fact, WordPress is used by over 75 million websites today and it is considered to be the most popular CMS on the planet. WordPress also allows you to do a lot more customization than either Wix or SquareSpace, so please keep that in mind as well.
Anyhow, let’s move on. WordPress at first glance might seem a bit overwhelming, but after you have done a bit of exploring and browsed through a few thorough Google searches, you should get the hang of using it in no time. There are an endless number of online resources you can use to your advantage in case you don’t understand how to use parts of the WordPress CMS and it’s also important to remember, like anything else, it will probably take a little bit of time to get used to.
WordPress Doesn’t Require Coding Knowledge
Did you know when you build your site using WordPress, you really don’t need to understand how to code to build a beautiful website? There are tons of tools available that will help you style your website exactly the way you want it and a lot of them are free. For example, if you’re looking for a front end builder that will allow you to create a more customized layout, then check out Elementor. They do have a pro version, but if you’re new to WordPress or just want to explore your options, then I believe the free version of this front end builder will work just fine.
If you’re trying to quickly get something up and don’t care too much about customization, then you could always check out what WordPress themes are available on the WordPress Repository or have a look at what’s available on an online marketplace such as themeforest. Many WordPress developers have spent countless hours designing and developing themes so people like you don’t have to spend months and months learning to code. There are tons of great high quality themes available online, so finding one that fits your tastes and style should be super easy.
Ready Made Plugins Are Also Available
Another great reason to choose WordPress as your go to website platform is that there are thousands of tools, known as plugins that can help you extend the functionality of your website even further. If you are still unsure what exactly that means, well that’s okay because we are going to look at a few examples of this in the next few sentences.
WooCommerce – This is a plugin that lets you create an online store and accept payments via your payment processor.
Yoast SEO – This popular SEO plugin has built in features that will allow you to write your meta descriptions, handle redirects, and submit your XML sitemaps. Yoast also has a few other features that we won’t be going over in this post, but the plugin itself also has built in features that will give you advice on how to better optimize your pages or posts for SEO.
Contact Form 7 – This plugin allows your visitors to submit messages to you via a contact form and it is extremely easy to install and use.
And the list goes on and on…. But, to make a long story short, if you want your WordPress website to do something extra, most likely there is already a plugin out there that will eliminate the need for you to hire a plugin developer or learn PHP yourself.
